Featured on the front of Miniature Wargames Magazine, February 2026 Issue 514, the Armoured Clash Teutonic Regiment sprue features everything you need to create a brand-new Teutonic Commander unit for your Imperium force, headed by Master Siegbert von Brandt.
145 Points Commander Unit (cannot be reinforced)
Master Siegbert von Brandt is a new, unique Commander unit that can be included in an Imperium Force to represent the leadership of the powerful, but secretive Ordo Teutonic. With an impressive Damage Limit of 2, as well as the Durable and Shrouded special rule, this formidable staying power allows an Imperium General to send this unit forward with little risk of losing it to a lucky opening volley
Combined with potent Ranged and Melee Attacks, which can hit all the harder with a good dice roll due to the Arc weapon quality, Master Siegbert von Brandt is an impressive frontline unit, perfectly suited to getting into the thick of combat and brushing aside any lesser infantry foolish enough to get in their way.
The Narrative
With the dawning of the Dystopian Age, the world has been divided amongst the eight Great Powers. Of these, few have asserted their dominance as forcefully as the Imperium. Since 1806, the true power behind the throne has come not from the Kaiser, but from the shadowy organisation of knights known as the Ordo Teutonic. And, save for Grandmaster Anna von Malberg herself, there are few amongst their ranks more renowned than Master Siegbert von Brandt.
As one of the longest serving members of the Ordo, Siegbert has on many occasions been offered land and title on which to retire, and on every occasion refused. For his purview is the indoctrination of young pages into the ranks of the Ordo; from their rigorous training to the final forging of their pauldron, he is a taskmaster of the highest degree. He was made for war, and will never retire so long as there are young soldiers to be terrorised and weakness to be stamped out.
When marching to war, many commanders surround themselves with the most experienced soldiers, both to ensure their effectiveness and their own protection. But von Brandt cares little for this and would rather the expertise of veterans be present elsewhere on the field. Rather, leading from the front with his voltaic greatsword Gram, von Brandt commands the youngest members of the Ordo, those yet to emerge from his tutelage, for their final “exam”. If the lessons they have learned are enough to keep him (and themselves) alive, then he has done his job.
Though the Ordo Teutonic typically deploy in highly specialised formations - the most common of these being the defensive Castellans and the fierce close quarters fighters of the Crusaders - von Brandt prides himself on a mixed arms approach. The heavily- armoured pages in his charge are expected to be just as versatile. As one, they level their Electro-Cannons towards the enemy, searing salvos of blue-white lightning melting flesh and metal alike, even as their comrades charge into the enemy with voltaic swords and maces, each young warrior directing the robotic Squire automata that fight beside them.
Although he marches alongside the military forces of the Imperium, von Brandt’s loyalty is to the Ordo. He displays little care for “lesser” soldiery, and his outward disdain towards their commanders has led to Siegbert becoming as feared by those he marches alongside as those who would stand against them. Many in the Ordo remember when they themselves studied under von Brandt’s exacting gaze, and the sight of him leading the next generation to victory is enough to inspire hope in the grimmest of knights. And once the battle is concluded, so will these knights gather under the fluttering banner of the Ordo to witness von Brandt officially induct the surviving pages into their ranks.
The Design
Now that we’ve looked into the function of the model and the lore behind it, Roberto Cirillo, Studio Art Director here at Warcradle Studios, has shared the design philosophy behind the Ordo Teutonic.
“Overall, the Teutonic armour design aims to convey strength, discipline, technological knowledge and the uncompromised ambition of the Imperium in its efforts and determination for expansion of their holy cause.
While technologically more advanced and powerful-looking, the armour needed to remain historically and contextually faithful, preserving the fundamental tropes and vibes found in and portrayed by their past and more classical ancestors' designs.
While lines and shapes can clearly be found to be reminiscent of the more classical of those Germanic armour designs, some other elements needed to be added or evolved to fit into a more up-to-date functional look and feel that would reflect their current technology: the 'Bucket' Great Helm, forearm Shield projector and hand weapons are an example of this, bringing the whole design to a Dystopian Age battlefield compliant and seemingly unstoppable war-machine for the Imperium.”
