August Releases: The Union Take Matters of Independence Into Their Own Hands
An eclectic mix of pre-orders are coming your way this month, including a new Battlefleet and Squadrons Box for Dystopian Wars and a new range of Warcradle Scenics.
Eager to prove their restored might and ensure they are never downtrodden again, the Union launch a fervorous fight for their Independence once more with the Independence Battlefleet Set. The possibility of defeat is unacceptable and will not be entertained.
Setting a course across the seas of Dystopian Wars this month is the Empire Sky Bastion Squadrons, previously seen in the Zhanmadao Battlefleet Set. Empire players would be wise to employ these aerial units to complement their fleets.
Introducing Normandy Farm, the latest Warcradle Scenics set that depicts a wartorn farm. A last bastion for soldiers to hold the fort and fight off any oncoming assault it is perfect for historical wargames like Bolt Action, adding an element of realism and detail to your tabletop.
Due to be released at the end of August 2023.
Dystopian Wars
The Union attempt to defend their territory with mighty gumption this month as the Independence Battlefleet Set arrives to secure both the seas and the skies, all in the name of freedom. The Empire also launch aerial armaments with the Empire Sky Bastion Squadrons, offering to bolster any Zhanmadao Battlefleet with further reinforcements.
Independence Battlefleet Set
“In short, after experiencing what this former colony has been attempting recently, it would seem that they are taking their so-called ‘Manifest Destiny’ very seriously.”
“I have observed their Farpoint Platforms in action along with the battlecruiser sized Frontier Class vessels. The Union of Federated States can now create a surprisingly defendable location in a matter of days, if not hours.”
“They have excellent range thanks to their Akron Sentry Rotors, rapidly organising strikes with John Henry Colossi aided by Patriot Automata.”
“Not to mention their more traditional naval forces composed of Gettysburg Monitors, Roanoke Carriers, Valiant Destroyers and the like.”
“Assuming their substantial resources, even if reduced in the aftermath of their ‘Ore War’, I estimate that their Eastern coastal defences will be improved five-fold within the year and they could begin pushing into our colonial holdings within two.”
“I urge you to act now, before it is too late. We must stop the Union in its tracks before it gains momentum.”
Commodore Gerald St.John-Smythe, debriefing to the Crown Military Intelligence Service

The truth of it was mundane. It had to be. It existed in the world so it could be explained with material engineering and Newtonian physics. Despite that, Kai Chen couldn’t help but look upon the site with wonder.
His first aerial posting was aboard the Ziwei Sky Bastion, ‘Abundant Peace’. This was the first time since leaving the mainland that he’d had the chance of a quiet moment for himself and so he stood, gazing out at the open ocean. Shafts of sunlight pierced the clouds and danced across the glassy sea.
The noise of the engines was partially blocked out by his crew-issued earplugs but he could feel the rumble of it through his feet on the deck. Perhaps the rarified air at this altitude made the light refract strangely or perhaps the lower oxygen made him giddy but either way, for a moment, he found a blissful state, knowing that the view he’d imagined in his dreams was even greater than he could imagine.

2x Ziwei Sky Bastions (may also be built as Qianshao Class)

Warcradle Scenics
This month the latest Warcradle Scenics pre-orders help set the backdrop of your epic battles with a touch of the historic. The Normandy Farm Set can be built as either a countryside farm ready to be defended or a war-ravaged marker of the ongoing conflict, serving as perfect terrain for wargames such as Bolt Action.
Normandy Farm Set
D Company took the abandoned farm without much trouble. A rare time of quiet had them brewing up in the cottage, still standing after the battle. Watches were posted but now it was a time to check webbing, tend to the wounded and catch a breather.
Despite the recent fighting the old farm was almost peaceful now. Apart from the Tommies joking around to relieve the stresses of the last few days.
The cottage itself had lazy smoke rising from the chimney as some quick thinking lads got some rations on.
The workshop had engineers swarming around it for anything of use, though it had been cleared out some time ago.

The barn and windmill had folks congregating around it, just kicking back for a few and enjoying the dappled sunshine.
The only thing that broke the pastoral beauty, aside from the now ubiquitous battle damage and mud, was the checkpoint they’d taken from the enemy. By the end of the week, it would be broken down for firewood, a remnant of occupation destroyed with relish by the locals.
This box contains:
1x Normandy Cottage
1x Normandy Barn (can be built as a Damaged variant)
1x Normandy Windmill
1x Normandy Walls (can be built as a Damaged variant)
1x Normandy Farmyard Scatter
1x Normandy Workshop
1x Normandy Checkpoint
