Without further ado, here's how I paint black. There are many types of black (clothing, armour etc) and many ways to achieve it. I've opted for soft clothing using nothing but glazes over Zenithal.

As I've been asked this question a lot this is how thin I keep my paints. Pretty damn thin.

Coal black is glazed over a zenithal undercoat. Do not allow this to pool up.

Thamar Black is glazed into the recesses and feathered out with a damp brush.

A Coal Black glaze is then used to smooth the highlights in.

The entire areas is given an ultra thin Thamar Black glaze et voila - done and dusted. If you want a deeper black, just repeat this stage until you're happy.
