Here at Warcradle, we have been going through the most recent Armoured Clash community feedback, and as the title of this blog suggests, the Commonwealth ORBAT is now locked.

We’ve gathered the community's feedback on the Commonwealth Beta ORBAT (including the new units added through the Commonwealth Heavy Regiment) and concluded that no further changes are needed. We’re happy with where this ORBAT is at currently, until it is reviewed later as part of our Global Update.

To give you a bit of insight into our thinking, here are just a couple of examples of the kinds of things that came up, and why we chose to leave them as they are for now.

Changes We Considered

Now that the Minsk Rail Destroyer and the Vilnius Siege Tank have been added to Commonwealth forces, an Artillery element has been added to the Faction Battlegroup. Why then have the Dikobraz Artillery Borers not moved categories? They do have Artillery in their name, after all.

By leaving them as an Armour unit, they can be fielded in any of the three Battlegroups available to a Commonwealth General. If they were to be classed as Artillery, they could only be taken as an element in the main Faction Battlegroup, and would be sharing that space with the two new units. By leaving the Dikobraz as they are, we are also not disturbing any players’ existing lists. This is something we will continue to monitor and test going forward, and if we feel that all three Battlegroups need reworking, we will revisit it in our twice-yearly Global Update.

The frontal protection of the Omsk Cryo Transport and the Matryona Heavy Transport has also raised some eyebrows, considering they are as tough as the Crown’s Galahad Main Battle Tanks. This was intentional. The Galahad was a benchmark for the Commonwealth Engineers to reach; such was the determination to make a large, survivable transport for their infantry. For those who haven’t seen the models yet, both of these transports are quite impressively proportioned and well deserving of their toughness. Both versions are longer and beefier than the Tsar Battle Tank, and also longer than the Galahad.

Again, as with the Dikobraz, we will keep an ear out for what the community feels about this going forward and may make changes in a future Global Update if necessary. This goes for all of our factions. Listening to you, the players, is an indispensable part of delivering you the best possible games, so please keep the feedback and thoughts coming in.
