That’s right, May introduces a third faction to the new edition of Dystopian Wars, this one showcasing their portal mastery.

With the backing of the House of Gold, the Sultanate are looking to seize control of the seas in May with the introduction of the Sultanate Starter Set. Like the Crown and Empire Starter Sets previously, this box aims to provide admirals with as many build variants in one kit as possible so that you can easily start or flesh out a fleet.

Also releasing in May for Dystopian Wars are the new sprues found in the Dominion of the Dragon Two Player Starter Set, as separate releases. You will be able to pick up the Dominion Support Squadrons for the Crown, and the Korean Aerial Squadrons for the Empire, to add new units to your Starter Set or Two Player Starter Set fleets.

The Engineers of the Crown have been hard at work developing deployable battlefield fortifications and Super-Heavy Tanks, ready to turn the tide of battle. Reinforce your army with the new Crown Superheavy Regiment, adding new tools to your arsenal.

Dystopian Wars: Sultanate Starter Set

The Sultanate Starter Set provides budding Admirals with a great starting point for building a fearsome fleet of Turkish units, or for expanding an existing collection into a formidable armada.

True to Sultanate doctrine, highly mobile Iskandar Cruisers are a common sight in fleets scattered across the globe, their sleek hulls and Yanal-engines allowing them to veer and wheel in ways that are unachievable for the cruisers of the other Great Powers. The smaller Izmir Monitor can navigate its way through shallow waters with ease, and, along with Temir Frigates and Celik Destroyers, these patrolling vessels serve a vital role by duelling roving raiders and privateers that target the archipelagos and coastal settlements of Mustafa's domain.

One of the most striking aspects of the Sultanate's navies is the presence of Ikili, or double-hulled, ships that can carry the deadliest of advanced weapons into the fray. These vessels, notably the Bayezid Grand Cruiser, boast horrendous levels of firepower and durability, allowing them to hold their own against enemy battlecruisers. A new creation from the Shipyards of Anatolia, the Mehmed Command Cruiser is an Ikili vessel that builds on the success of earlier designs to act as a dependable front-line flagship, its Portal Generator capable of creating shimmering gateways that provide previously-unattainable levels of mobility and otherwise-impossible angles of attack.

Contents:

  • 3x Iskandar Cruisers (may also be built as Izmir Monitors, Pasha Light Cruisers, or Sadrazam Heavy Cruisers. Alternatively, a single Bayezid Grand Cruiser or Mehmed Command Cruiser can be built, along with a single model from the previous list).

Dystopian Wars: Dominion Support Squadrons

The models in the Crown Dominion Support Squadrons box provide a variety of new and exciting units to add versatility to a Crown fleet.

Vivienne Flak Submarines rise from the waves ahead of the main force, their fragmentation ripple cannonades devastating enemy aircraft before they can attack the Vivienne’s charges. Any who do get past find their attacks ineffectual against the Crown’s ever present Guardian network of shields.

The Inuit Strike Rotors hit back, their devastating Unaaq Heavy Torpedoes making short work of any surface or underwater units in their sights. Finally the Gharial Hovercraft—a breach made in the enemy lines—pushes forth. Neither terrain nor wreckage prove any obstacle as they move in to launch boarding assaults against their weakened foes.

Contents:

  • 2x Vivienne Flak Submarines (may also be built as Laudine Bombardment Submarines, Lady Ragnell Heavy Submarines, or Isolde Torpedo Submarines)

  • 2x Gharial Hovercraft

  • 2x Excalibur Destroyers

  • 2x Inuit Strike Rotors

  • Defiance Fighter SRS Tokens

  • 8x Escorts

Dystopian Wars: Korean Aerial Squadrons

The models in the Korean Aerial Squadrons box provide high-speed and high-altitude support to their sea-bound allies. Dropping through the clouds on almost silent rotorbladed wings, the hunters of Korea evade incoming fire with ease, rolling and jinking through every incoming barrage without a scratch.

The Sanshin Judgement Aircruiser then calls a squadron of Doksuri to join them, coating a target in alchemical flame. The smaller Hobakbeol Assault Rotor, meanwhile, launches squadrons of elite Bulnabang Winged Infantry to assault enemy ships and landing parties alike. Once close enough, the rotorcraft release tethered kites that float towards nearby vessels. The kites then dive down and detonate their corrosive charges to deadly effect.

Finally, their path cleared, the Draconic Colossi swoop in: the Kiyohime bathes ships in noxious gas before setting their elite Bushi Ryu samurai to board; the Gangcheori corkscrews past, firing blast after blast of superheated air from its heat lancettes; and finally the Shénlóng, exhaling fiery torrents to devastate entire squadrons in moments.

Contents:

  • 2x Shénlóng Draconic Colossi (may also be built as Kiyohime Draconic Colossi or Gangcheori Draconic Colossi)

  • 2x Sanshin Judgement Aircruisers (may also be built as Hwanung Generator Aircruisers or Hobakbeol Assault Rotors)

  • 4x Bangpae Explosive Automata

  • Doksuri Fighter SRS Tokens

Armoured Clash: Crown Superheavy Regiment

In this Armoured Clash Regiment box, you will find heavy support options for your Crown force.

Unflappable Royal Engineer Artificers erect battlefield fortifications such as the Roxburgh Firebase which anchor the battlelines even as bullets fly. Their comrades in the Royal Engineer Dragoons prove just as adept at battlefield repairs as they are at wrecking the vehicles of their enemies.

Finally, rumbling towards the frontlines on mammoth tracks, super-heavy tanks like the Challenger or Conqueror sweep all before them with massive frontal armour and an array of devastating weaponry.

Contents:

  • 4x Royal Engineer Artificers

  • 4x Royal Engineer Dragoons

  • 1x Challenger Super-Heavy Assault Tank (may also be built as a Conqueror Super-Heavy Battle Tank or a Camlan Super-Heavy Transport)

  • 1x Roxburgh Firebase (may be built as a Corfe Bastion)

  • 2x Barricades
