As the 27th of September draws ever nearer, the prospects of taking to the seas in the new edition of Dystopian Wars fill our minds! Through our Development Diary series of blogs, we’ve been able to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the process our Development Team has taken to ensure the new edition of Dystopian Wars is the best it can be.

With this blog being the last of the weekly entries in our Development Diary series (though expect infrequent entries when we have something we’re excited to share with you), we’re looking ahead to the future releases of Dystopian Wars.

So what actually is next?

What is to come?

Thats right, it’s time to reveal a little more about the first new models you’ll be getting your hands on when the new edition is here, the Crown Starter Set.

Front of the Crown Starter Set

That’s right, the first releases for Dystopian Wars will be the Starter Sets, starting with the Crown and continuing until each faction receives its own box. To coincide with each faction getting their new Starter Sets, the launch ORBATs for said faction will be updated to an ORBAT full of background, lore and artwork that you’ve come to know and love from the likes of the Armoured Clash ORBATs.

But what exactly can you expect from the new Starter Sets?

The Crown Starter Set

Back of the Crown Starter Set

The first thing you may notice that is different about the new Crown Starter Set is the in situ photography showcased on the back of the boxes, a wonderful addition put together by our Graphic Design team and lovingly painted by our Studio Painters.

The next thing you may spot are the models, and specifically the variation of models in one box. First off, the updated sculpts you can see above speak for themselves, mastering the level of detail and crispness seen in some of the more recent releases for Dystopian Wars. If you’re looking to add any unit to your Crown fleet, these new sculpts will serve you well.

With these new Starter Sets, you’ll also find the flexibility of the sprues has been improved, offering you as many build options as possible in an effort to make sure you have exactly what you need to build what you want.

All around, the new Starter Sets aim to serve the purpose of being the easiest way to get a large array of ships you may be interested in adding to your collection, whilst utilising that opportunity to update the sculpts to offer you the best possible looking model to build, paint and play.

Not long left!

The new edition is ready to set sail on the 27th of September with the release of the Dystopian Wars: Rules & Gubbins Set. Budding admirals will not have to wait long to get their hands on what comes next after the rules are released, with Crown players the first to receive their Starter Set and ORBAT filled with wonderful world-building. We can’t wait for them to be in your hands!
